Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

I, Elise Klepper, joined this campaign because unfortunately, my great-aunt, Josefina Agustin, or Lola Josie to me and my younger sisters, passed away in 2021 from a number of diseases. The main factor however was, sadly, cancer. Me and my family could only watch in horror as the bright, energetic, and seemingly invincible force of a grandmother was slowly taken from us by cancer, and we were helpless to stop it. It was painful for me to deal with, and even more painful to have to watch my family struggle through their sorrow.

I, Angela Kantor, joined this campaign in honor of my family members that have died from cancer and in hope that one day, all of us can call cancer a thing of the past. When I was ten years old, both my grandfather and grandmother (from opposite sides of the family) died from cancer. I remember this period of my life vividly, as it was filled with frustration, grief, and loss. Both my grandfather and grandmother were beacons of reason, light, and happiness, and are truly irreplaceable. Years later, my great aunt was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a disease which weakened her greatly, and made her vulnerable to pneumonia, which killed her. Since suffering these losses, funding the research for safe and effective cancer treatment has been a cause I have held close to my heart. I believe that every dollar donated makes a tremendous difference, and is one step closer to making more miracles happen for cancer patients and their families.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

  • Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
  • Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
  • Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you! Your generosity means the world to us!
